Our Biggest Event Yet: UNICEF UofT Global Symposium

In March 2024, the UNICEF UofT Outreach team held the most successful event in team history: the UNICEF UofT Global Symposium. At the symposium, various academic, professional, and civil service leaders in the health and education sector, respectively, were brought in to share their work to the students at the University of Toronto St. George Campus.

The conference was also attended by the current Chief Program Officer of UNICEF Canada, who delivered the opening panel on his fieldwork with UNICEF across the world. This event helped spread awareness on the most pertinent issues surrounding women and children, such as the need to create equitable healthcare and education services in the Global South.

Overall, this symposium provided students a more nuanced understanding of UNICEF’s fundamental mission, which is to assist women and children across the globe.
